Gary Rippy, 59, of Savannah, died on Monday, Jan. 21.
He was born in Waynesboro, the son of Jimmy James Rippy and the late Mary Lois Pipes Rippy.
He had worked as a commercial fisherman with Ingram Towing and was a tankerman for the U.S. Coast Guard.
Memorial services were held on Sunday, Feb. 3, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Dustin Mooney officiating.
In addition to his father, Jimmy James Rippy of Savannah, he is survived by a brother, Billy Joe Rippy of Savannah; sisters, Dorothy Deshazier, Doris Plunk, Betty Tarkington and Linda Eliff, all of Savannah.
