Ora Young

Ora Evelyn Young, 93, of Savannah, died Sunday, Jan. 27.

She was born in Savannah, the daughter of the late G.B. and Minirva Strickland Pickens. She was united in marriage to Earl Young, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Young had been employed with Harwood Garment Company and was a member of Morris Chapel Baptist Church and Second Baptist Church in Savannah.

Services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 30, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Ed Alexander officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.

She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Pleiss of Las Vegas, Nev.; four grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Fisher; and son, Mack Young.
