Harvie Cossey

Harvie Dale Cossey, 69, of Savannah, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, in Memphis.

He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late George Lewis and Mary Catherine Michael Cossey.

Mr. Cossey retired from the United States Navy. He also was a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for nine years. He was a member of Savannah Church of Christ.

Services were held on Monday, Jan. 28, at 11 a.m., at Savannah Church of Christ in Savannah with Chuck Morris officiating. Burial followed in the White’s Creek Cemetery at Savannah.

Mr. Cossey is survived by one son, Terry Cossey of Glenwood, Ark.; two grandchildren; two brothers, George Cossey of South Bend, Ind., and Melvin Cossey of Birmingham, Ala.; two sisters, Pauline Cobb of Turlock, Calif., and Shirley Allensworth of Joiner, Ark.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Willidene Davis; and four brothers, Milford, James, L.D. and Hassell Cossey.
