Jerry Echols, 60, of Savannah, died Sunday, Jan. 13.
He was born in New Market, Ala., the son of William and Effie Mae Echols. He was united in marriage to Julie Bryd, who survives.
Mr. Echols retired from Averrit Transportation as a truck driver.
Services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 15, at Sharon Baptist Church in Savannah with Greg Young officiating. Burial followed in the Kirk Cemetery at Linden, Tenn.
He is survived by his wife, Julie Echols of Savannah; son, Willie Anthony Echols of Florence, Ala.; sisters, Catherine Bailey of Elora, Tenn., and Karen Swanzy of Brantley, Ala.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Tammy Kaye Echols; and brother, William Lowe Echols.
