Elsie Olson Burns, 94, of Savannah, died Monday, Dec. 31, in Savannah.
She was born in Du Bois, Penn., the daughter of the late Gus S. and Jennie Charlotte Anderson Olson.
Ms. Burns served her country in the Women’s Army Corps from 1943 to 1945. She was a machine operator for Brown Shoe Company, and she was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
A graveside service was held on Thursday, Jan. 3, at the Neill Cemetery in Savannah with Michael Roach officiating.
She is survived by her children, Janice Richardson of Brandon, Miss., and Peggy Gray of Savannah; three grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Martha Hallstrom, Ann Walters and Helen Woodgates; and three brothers, Art and Edward Olson, and an infant brother.
