Blonnie Young

Blonnie Nell Young, 76, of Savannah, died Thursday, Dec. 27, in Savannah.

She was born in Iuka, Miss., the daughter of the late William "Buddy" and Bertha Annie Moore Jones. She was united in marriage to Ernest Young, who survived.

Mrs. Young worked at Savannah Manufacturing as a seamstress. She was a member of Graham United Methodist Church. She volunteered at the hospital and for Christian Assistance Ministries.

Services were held on Saturday, Dec. 29, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jim Wright, Tony Polk officiating. Burial followed in the Campground Cemetery at Hardin County.

In addition to her husband, Ernest of Savannah, she is survived by her children, Sheila Young Mills of Paris, Tenn., Sherry Young Stricklin, Connie Young Hurt and Donnie Darryl Young, all of Savannah; 11 grandchildren, one step grandchild; seven great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Pearl Jones Pevahouse.
