Mervin Baugus Mervin E. Baugus, 71, of Savannah, died on Friday, Dec. 14. He was born in Hardin County, son of the late Laudis and Amy Franks Baugus. He married Kathy Merion Vanhoose Baugus, who survives. He attended the Turkey Creek Union Church. He was retired, having worked as a concrete finisher and was employed by Hassell Lumber Company. Services were held on Tuesday, Dec.18, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Wade Holbrook officiating. Burial followed in the Neill Cemetery at Savannah. He is survived by his wife, Kathy Marion Vanhoose Baugus; brother, Leon Baugus; sister, Mary Thelda Norton; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Melvin and Marcell Baugus.
