Paul Bridges

Paul Bridges departed this life on Wednesday, Dec. 5, at the age of 83 years, 10 months, 28 days.

Paul was born in Hardin County, on Jan. 7, 1929, the son of the late Johnny William and Minnie V. Pearson Bridges. On Feb. 16, 1974, he was united in marriage to Clara Walker, who survives.

Paul was an accountant for Barker Implement. He had also worked for Billy Stanfill and Henco. He had lived in Savannah for 16 years and Crump for 38 years. Paul enjoyed playing dominoes, square dancing, fishing, camping, and listening to country music. He was a member of Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Savannah.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Clara Bridges of Adamsville; daughter, Connie Smith and husband Tony of Adamsville; grandchildren, Angie Reed and Timothy Eric Smith; great-grandchildren, Ashley Reed, Parker Smith, Katelyn Reed and Katie Smith; sister, Mary Lou Hopper of Brentwood, Tenn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Wilma Wells; and one brother, Vandell Bridges.

Services were held on Sunday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Duwayne Pounds officiating. Burial followed in the Maggie Jones Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery at Finger, Tenn.
