George Clayton, 87, of Corinth, Miss., died Saturday, Dec. 8, at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Dec.15, 2012. Burial at Mt. Hermon Cemetery.

Arrangements by Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka, Miss.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Flora Dora Cromwell Clayton; his son, Mark Thomas Clayton; his sons’ mother, Virginia Ruth Cadwell Clayton; four brothers, Marshall, Kermit, Frank (Violette), and Maynard Clayton (Pat); four sisters, Lora Sims (Joe), Hazel Brewer (Otis), Rachel Alter (Phil), and Lois La Franco (Charlie).

He is survived by his wife, Louise Clayton of Corinth, Miss.; two sons, Kenneth Clayton of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Roger Clayton (Rie) of Nashville; one stepdaughter, Trudy Copeland (John) of Kosciusko, Miss.; one daughter-in-law, Jan Hamilton Clayton of Savannah; two brothers, Wilbur "Rusty" Clayton (Benny) of Upland, Calif., and Arthur Clayton (Eddy) of Smithville, Mo.; one sister, Edith Nathan of Hesperia, Calif.; six grandchildren, Malachi Clayton (Sarah) of Dallas, Texas; Aaron Clayton of Santa Rosa, Calif.; Tinuviel Maese of Maderia Beach, Fla.; Alaina Gray (Jordan) of Savannah; Emily Clayton (Chris Roberson) of Nashville; and Sai Clayton of Nashville; two step-grandchildren, Amy Crabtree and Chris Copeland; one great-grandchild, Paris Maese; and a host of nieces and nephews.
