Geneva Hosea

Geneva Murleen Hosea, 90, of Savannah, died Wednesday, Nov. 28, in Jackson, Tenn.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late John Edgar and Mary Jessie Smith Porter.

Ms. Hosea retired after 34 years from Brown Shoe Company where she worked in the reinforcement department. She was a member of Eureka United Methodist Church and was active in the Senior Citizens Center in Savannah.

Services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 4, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with James Clark, Mike Howard officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.

She is survived by her children, Deretha Wilbanks, Bonnie Blanton, Juan Hosea and Ricky Hosea, all of Savannah; eight grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Donna Franks; two sisters, Mildred Hughes and Helen Porter; and two brothers, Vernon and Hubert Porter.
