Peggy Pinson

Peggy Jean Pinson was born in Henderson, Tenn., on Jan. 16, 1934, the daughter of the late Alton and Tommye Barnett.

On June 13, 1961, she was united in marriage to Sammie Carroll Pinson, who preceded his wife in death on Feb. 4, 2009.

Peggy was a seamstress for a garment factory. She loved flowers, ceramics and sewing, but most of all Peggy loved being with her family.

Peggy departed this life on Monday, Nov. 12, in Savannah, at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 27 days.

She is survived by her children, Tony Eugene Scott and his wife Anita of Shelbyville, Tenn., Janet Carol Waters and her husband Terry of Savannah, and Cathy Creasy of Savannah; her grandchildren, Casey Neal Pinson, Gregory Glenn Wilson, Kevin Lyshaun Wilson, Joshua Daniel Smith, David Talon Creasy, Samantha Jean Meek, Jessica Lynn Lard, Brandon Michael Creasy and Joshua David Creasy; her great-grandchildren, Caley Nicole Pinson, Macy Jean Meek, Jayden Tyler Lard and Zoey Lynne Creasy.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Peggy was also preceded in death by two daughters, Sherry Jean Smith and Lisa Diane Waters; one son, Michael Joe Scott; and one grandson, Cameron Seth Waters.

Services were held on Thursday, Nov. 15, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Bob Pickett officiating. Burial followed in the Graham Cemetery at Savannah.
