Marie Davis (11-19-12) service 11-21-12

Marie Davis, 71, of Milledgeville, died Monday, Nov. 19, in Nashville.

She was born in Henderson County, daughter of the late Willie Lee Maness Sr. and Leva Jane Arnold Maness. She was united in marriage to Michael "Mike" Davis, who survives.

Mrs. Davis was a retired employee from Leroy Somer, Brown Shoe and the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Adamsville and active in the choir.

Services were held Wednesday, Nov. 21, at First Baptist Church in Lexington with Dr. Hoyt Wilson and Phil Mitchell officiating. Burial followed in Corinth Baptist Cemetery. Pafford Funeral Home in Lexington in charge of arrangements.

In addition to her husband, Mike Davis of Milledgeville, she is survived by two sons, Brad of Brush Creek, Tenn., and Shannon Davis of Scotts Hill; one sister, Judy Sharp of Linden; one brother, Robert Maness of Wildersville; three grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Willie Lee Maness Jr.; and two sisters, Mary Katherine Hendrix and Carol Jane Maness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donation be sent to First Baptist Church Adamsville Building Fund or Operation Christmas Child.
