James Carroll Rinks

James Carroll "Pillhead" Rinks was born in Savannah, on Aug. 18, 1953, the son of the late Oscar Elmer and Martha Maybell Ward Rinks.

James was a truck driver for Turnbow Trucking. He also had worked for Hardin County Sale Barn. James loved spending time with his three grandsons.

He departed this life on Tuesday, Oct. 9, in Savannah, at the age of 59 years, 1 month and 21 days.

James is survived by his children, Amanda Dale Rinks Grisham and Dustin Cecil Rinks, both of Savannah; three grandchildren, Jacob Antrae McClarin, Taylor JamesCecil Grisham and Payton Dale Obispo; two sisters, Martha Jane Barnett and her husband Randy of Florence, Ala., and Shirly Ann Stanfill and her husband Doug of Henderson, Tenn.; two brothers, Pete Rinks and his wife Martha of Crump, and Elrod Rinks of Savannah.

James is also survived by a special nephew, Brant Lee Arnold and his wife Christy of Crump.

In addition to his parents, James was also preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Wayne Rinks.

Services were held on Thursday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah, with Eddie Payne officiating. Burial followed in the Graham Cemetery at Savannah.
