G.W. "Billy" Seaton (9-20-12) service 9-22-12

G.W. "Billy Seaton, 86, of Adamsville, died Thursday, Sept. 20, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital, Jackson, Tenn.

He was the son of the late Elmer and Georgia Donaldson Seaton. He was united in marriage to Gerri Pitts, who preceded him in death.

Services were held Saturday, Sept. 22, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville with Phil Mitchell and Elmer D. Seaton officiating. Burial followed at Mud Creek Cemetery, Adamsville. Arrangements by Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer. Music for the service was by Richard Seaton and Jerry Whitten group.

Mr. Seaton was a member of Adamsville First Baptist Church and was an Army World War II veteran. He and his family owned and operated Seaton’s Grocery from 1935 until 1983.

He is survived by sons, Don Seaton and wife Karen, and Timothy E. Seaton and wife Melissa, all of Adamsville; daughters, Georgana Tidwell and huband Markus, and Sybil Gibbs and husband Jerry, all of Adamsville; nine grandchildren, Kristi Turnbow, Eric Seaton, Aimee Redmon, Deana Milford, Will Tidwell, Josh Gibbs, Jordan Gibbs, Jill Coln, Timothy Seaton; 17 great-grandchildren; brother Elmer D. Seaton of Adamsville.

He was also preceded in death by a grandchild Jon Mark Ivey.

Memorial may be made to charity of individual’s choice.
