Ruby Goodman Devers Perry departed this life on Thursday, Aug. 23, at the age of 99 years, 1 month, 7 days.

Mrs. Perry was born in Wayne County, Tenn., on July 16, 1913, the daughter of the late Charlie Allen and Bettie Simmons Goodman. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church, Mabry Family Community and retired from Paramount Fabricating where she was a press operator. She enjoyed computers, crafts, church and her family.

Mrs. Perry is survived by her children, Katheryn Marie Freeman of Savannah, Kayron Maxine Galongo of Ontario, Calif., Glenda McCann of Bartlett, Tenn., Jerry Edwin Devers of Benton, Ky., Linda Lou Boles of Morrison, Tenn. and Brenda Gayle LaForce of Savannah; 19 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren and 29 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William Wallace Devers, who preceded her in death on Feb. 1, 1958; second husband, Jack Perry, who preceded her in death on March 31, 2006; son, Charles William (Sonny) Devers; sisters, Naomi Aiken and Jewell Lundholm; brothers, Lester Goodman and Dewey Goodman; grandson, David Gordon Dancy.

Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 25, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Ed Alexander and Jason Estes officiating. Burial followed in the North Highland Cemetery at Waynesboro, Tenn.
