Arvis Harris

Arvis Wayne Harris was born Nov. 2, 1933, in McNairy County, the son of the late Richard Garland and Iva Dee Droke Harris.

He was united in marriage to Mary Frances Taylor on July 6, 1959. He was a U.S. Army veteran, Baptist in faith and retired from Caterpillar.

Mr. Harris departed this life on Sunday, Aug. 26, in Jackson, Tenn. at the age of 78 years, 9 months, 24 days.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Frances Harris of Adamsville; a daughter, Linda Bello and husband Victor of Hobert, Ind.; a son, Ricky Harris of Adamsville; two brothers, Weldon Harris and wife Wanda of Adamsville, and Winford Harris and wife Sue of Savannah; four grandchildren, Jesse Bello, Jonah Bello, Tiffany Harris and Mary Beth Harris; two great-grandchildren, Candice Harris and Seth Harris.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Harris was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Harris.

Services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 29, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville with Bill McCall officiating. Burial followed in the Ledbetter Cemetery at Hardin County.
