Earl Haggard

Earl Haggard, 92, of Savannah, died Thursday, Aug. 16, in Columbia, Tenn.

He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Otis Orval and Zelma Garrard Haggard. He was united in marriage to Grace Majors, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Haggard served his country in the United States Army. He was a farmer, a member of Russell Chapel Church, Masonic Lodge 629 of Saltillo, Eastern Star and Woodmen of the World.

Services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 22, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Tony Polk officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.

He is survived by one daughter, Ginger Haggard Ayres of Thompson Station, Tenn.; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Hazel Davis; and four brothers, Herbert, Otis, Robert and Barney K. Haggard.
