Albert Humphrey

Albert Humphrey, 71, of Savannah, died Thursday, Aug. 16, in Savannah.

He was born in Savannah, the son of the late Albert Herman and Daisy Hunt Humphrey. He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Newman, who survives.

Mr. Humphrey was a self-employed auto mechanic at Albert’s Auto Repair. He also was a school bus driver, truck driver and also served with City and County Fire Department of Hardin County. Albert attended Crossroads Union Church.

Services were held on Sunday, Aug. 19, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Larry Rich officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County.

In addition to his wife, Ann of Savannah, Albert is survived by his children, Albert Humphrey III of Adamsville, Kristina Edwards of Benton, Ky. and Janet Pitts of Savannah; 14 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; one twin sister, Alma Ervin of Savannah.

He was also preceded in death by five sisters, Fannie Pearl Humphrey, Thelma Ollie Humphrey, Gladys Irene Lepard, Daisy Ruth Helbach and Hermie Naomi Brown.
