David Patrick “Pat” Riley was born in Bakersfield, Calif., on Jan. 19, 1957, the son of the late A.D. and Nell Harrison Riley.

David worked self-employed in construction for Riley Construction. He lived in Savannah for four years and Bakersfield, Calif. the rest of his life. David enjoyed gardening and raising Labrador retrievers. He was an AKC breeder. He also enjoyed renovating, which he was renovating his old home place and David enjoyed talking with everyone.

He departed this life on Thursday, July 19, in Mississippi at the age of 55 years and 6 months.

David is survived by one brother, Thomas Riley and his wife Kathy of Pittsboro, N.C.; two aunts, Helen Riley Seat of Chula Vista, Calif. and Joy Turner of Savannah; two nephews, Tim Riley of Greensboro, N.C. and Terry Riley of Boulder, Colo.; three great-nieces, Aubrey Riley, Emily Riley and Briana Riley; a special friend, Laura Allen of Savannah. David is also survived by a host of friends and relatives.

In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by one brother, Robert Allen Riley.

Services were held on Wednesday, July 25, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jim Wright officiating. Burial followed in the Pyburn Cemetery in Hardin County.
