Christopher Soren Carothers

Christopher Soren Carothers was born in Savannah on Monday, May 14, 2012, the son of Christopher Paul and Susan Jane Vanhoose Carothers. He weighed 7 lbs., 11 oz. and was 20 inches long.

His family called him Soren, which means strong, and he lived up to that name in the days ahead. He put up a strong and mighty fight, but his little body just wasn’t enough and he lost his battle on Monday, July 9, at 1 month and 25 days.

During his brief time here he experienced holding hands with his mommy and daddy, hugs and kisses from his family, listening as his mommy and daddy sang songs, and being told "I love you" countless times.

Soren is deeply loved by his mommy and daddy, big sister, Jillian Leigh Carothers of Cabot, Ark.; grandparents, Timothy and Pamela Carothers, J.W. and Sue Vanhoose, all of Savannah, Richard and Pamela Woodruff of Michie; great-grandparents, T.F. and Sarah Rich of Savannah, and Bill Williams of Michie; aunts and uncles, John and Lisa Vanhoose, Tara and Lee Stafford, Kelly and Miles Meeks, Sarah and Shane Barber.

Soren was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, John L. and Wilma Carothers, Maxine Williams, Tom and Edna Vanhoose.

As his father said, "You are the strongest man I ever knew."

Rest in peace Christopher Soren Carothers...

Services were held on Tuesday, July 14, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Marty Estes, Wade Holbrook officiating. Burial followed in the Big Hill Cemetery at Hardin County.
