Buster Franks, 87, of Savannah, died on Sunday, July 8.

Buster or "Babe" as he was known, was the son of the late John and Ada Burks Franks. He was united in marriage to Dovie Kate Jones, who survives.

Babe was employed with the Hardin County Solid Waste Department and was a member of the Nixon Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.

Services were held on Wednesday, July 11, at 11 a.m., at Nixon First Pentecostal Church in Savannah with Ernie Cordova and Marvin Norris officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Zion Cemetery at Savannah.

He is survived by his wife, Dovie Franks of Savannah; sons, William H. of Union City, Tenn., Marvin D. and Danny Franks, all of Savannah; two daughters, Betty Norris and Barbara Franks of Savannah; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, R.C. Franks of Savannah.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Wilma Franks; a son, Herman Franks; brothers, Hardin, Millard and Buck Franks.
