James Roy (Ronnie) White of Shilon was born in Nashville, on March 11, 1937, the son of the late Charlie and Mary Lou Jones White.

On Jan. 9, 1963, he was united in marriage to Georgia Chandler White who preceded him in death on June 9, 2011.

Mr. White served time in the United States Army as 1st Calvary. He was an engineer for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad. He worked for Amtrak and Gulf Mobil and Ohio Mobil for 26 years. Mr. White spent 10 years as a manager for Hazy Hills Golf Course in Hudson, Ill. His biggest dream was coaching, golfing, fishing, boating and drag racing. Mr. White was a member of Love & Truth Church here in Savannah. He was a youth group leader for Agape Fellowship in Hudson, Ill. He was a member of Brotherhood of local engineers for United transportation Union. Mr. White was the head coach for Bloomington Normal Girls softball association traveling Blue Angels team. He was the basketball coach for Acorn County Middle School. Mr. White worked for Volunteer Fire department in Hudson, Ill.

Mr. White departed this life on Monday, June 4, at the age of 75 years, 2 months, 24 days.

He is survived by one son, Ronnie Curtis White of Shiloh; one daughter, Terri Renee Payne of Savannah; twin brother, Thomas Ray White (Donnie) of Corinth, Miss., two grandchildren, Joshua Scott Payne and Brittany Nicole Payne both of Savannah.

Services were held on Saturday, June 9, at 11 a.m., at Love & Truth Church in Savannah with Phillip Meek officiating. Burial followed in the Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery at Shiloh.
