Buddy Melson

Buddy Melson, 75, of Savannah, died Wednesday, May 23.

He was born in Wayne County, the son of the late Pony Melson and Racheal Phillps Melson. He was united in marriage to Eula Mae Melson, who survives.

Buddy retired from Valcum Material Company Max truck driver and retired after 36 years. He attended Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church.

Services were held on Friday, May 25, at Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church in Hardin County with Tim Hanback officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County.

He is survived by his wife Eula Mae Melson of Savannah; four sons, Charles, Bobby, Danny, Randy Melson, all of Savannah; two daughters, Teresa Melson and Amy Sharp, both of Savannah; four brothers, Billy, Robert, Andrew "Andy," and Johnny Keeton Melson of Savannah; three sisters, Lucille Banks, Mae Doyle, both of Savannah, Hazel Cotner of Corinth, Miss.; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, nine step-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel "Goose" and Frank Norman Melson.
