Mike "Doodle" Dickson (5-6-12) service 5-11-12

Mike "Doodle" Dickson was born in Hardin County, on July 10, 1956, the son of Jo Hazel Grimes Dickson and the late Tommy Lewis Dickson.

Mr. Dickson was a self-employed painter. He enjoyed sports, talking, playing cards and dominos. Mr. Dickson was an avid pet lover.

He departed this life on Sunday, May 6, in Savannah, at the age of 55 years, 9 months and 26 days.

Mr. Dickson is survived by one daughter, Monica Lovelace of Henderson, Tenn.; four grandchildren, Whitley Lovelace, Wesley Lovelace, Brooke Sweat and Hali Dicus; his mother, Jo Hazel Dickson and Jimmy Hardin, both of Savannah; three sisters, Barbara Lackey and husband Dale of Malabar, Fla., Beverly Jones and husband, Charlie of Savannah, Tennessee and Belinda Dickson of Savannah; one special niece, Caylie Jones of Savannah.

In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Bridgett Marie Dicus; and his grandparents, Mary Stricklin, Joe Dickson, Alma Dickson and Lura Dickson.

Services were held on Friday, May 11, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Dr. Roger Penn officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
