William Michael Sanders
William Michael “Big Mike” Sanders, age 65, of Saltillo, died Sunday, April 22.
He was born in Friendship, Tenn., to the late William Robert Sanders and Mildred Louise Grant.
Mr. Sanders served in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran. He served three years on the USS Hammer as a boiler man, and volunteered for three tours in Vietnam including one down the Ne Kon Delta River.
Services were Wednesday, April 25, at the Saltillo United Methodist Church. Burial was Sunday, April 29, at Shady Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include: daughter, Roberta Anne Brattain of Stanfield, N.C.; son, William M. Sanders II of Ramstein Air Base, Germany; stepdaughters, Jennifer Kreutzman of Adamsville, Sandi Marie Johnson of McVille, N.D.; stepsons, Jason Alan Kreutzman of Saltillo, Richard C. Reinhard of Pittsburgh, Penn.; brothers, Robert G. of Myrtle, Miss., Randy of Lake Station, Ind., and Richard Sanders of Saltillo; sisters: Betty Trott of Aubrey, Texas, Dee Miller of Saltillo, Debra Harris of Alabama; 11 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
He is also preceded in death by his wife, Dusanka Sanders; and sister, JoAnn Weeden.
