Lavon Sullivan

Lavon Sullivan, 76, of Purdy community of McNairy County, died Sunday, April 1.

She was born in Adamsville, the daughter of the late Z.C. and Artie Nixon Jones.

Mrs. Sullivan owned Hair Shack in Selmer for several years and was the owner of Sullivan’s convenience store in the Purdy community.

Services were held on Monday, April 2, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer with W.D. McCollum officiating. Burial followed in the Bethesda Cemetery at Selmer.

She is survived by a daughter, Shelia Kidd of Selmer; a son, Rickey Plunk of Adamsville; three sisters, Neta Garrison of Crump, Betty Stocks of Selmer, Dorothy Pettigrew of Adamsville; a brother, Sammy Jones of Shiloh; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Sullivan was preceded in death by her first husband, Peatie Plunk; second husband, Dewey Sullivan; a sister, Nell Chambers; three brothers, Garland, Mike and Jimmy Jones.
