Dan Jeter

Dan Jeter was born in Florida on July 13, 1944, the son of the late Vernon James and Velma Lucille Lard Jeter.

Mr. Jeter had been a mechanical engineer for Fed-Ex in Memphis for 27 years. He was an avid fisherman, outdoorsman, and Harley-Davidson rider. He enjoyed golf, woodworking, and NASCAR. He had been a member of the Fed-Ex Bass Fishing Club, FLW Tours, American Legion in Hardin County, Ky., and a United States Navy Veteran.

He departed this life on Monday, Feb. 27, at the age of 67 years, 7 months, 14 days.

He is survived by his wife, Marsha Jeter of Savannah; two sons, Bryan Scott Jeter and wife Mandy of Stuggart, Germany, and Jimmy Weatherly of Germantown, Tenn.; two daughters, Danielle Jeter Meals and husband Tim of Elizabethtown, Ky., and Vicki Gallik of Savannah; nine grandchildren, Tanner, Trey and Jake Gallik, Jamie, Kalie and Rose Jeter, Brady and Parker Weatherly, Katie Beth and Taylor Meals; a sister, Brenda Jeter Bliss of Omaha, Neb.; and a brother, Joseph Jeter of Huntsville, Ala.

Services were held on Saturday, March 3, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Lisa Peterson officiating.
