Charles Robert "Bob" Weiler

Charles Robert "Bob" Weiler was born in Mishawaka, Ind., on March 29, 1927, the son of the late William Frank and Ruth Weiler.

On Aug. 3, 1946, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Maywald, who survives.

Mr. Weiler was a retired insurance agent. He was a United States Navy Veteran of World War II and the Korean War. Mr. Weiler also worked for Hercules Fencing in Jackson, Tenn., and was a retired Baptist minister. Mr. Weiler enjoyed playing golf.

He departed this life on Thursday, Jan. 26, in Savannah, at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 28 days.

In addition to his wife, Marilyn of Savannah, he is survived by two grandchildren, Cristy Ann Weiler and Leslie Meng; two great-grandchildren, Joe Meng and Myra Meng; two brothers, Ron Weiler of Counce and Jerry Weiler of Hillsboro, Texas.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by one son, Chuck Weiler Jr.; one sister, Lois Cohen; and one brother, Ellysworth Weiler.

Services were held on Monday, Jan. 30, at 1 p.m., at First Baptist Church in Counce with Michael Roach and Rev. Jimmie McChristial officiating. Burial followed in the Shanghai Cemetery at Counce.
