Mabel LaBrant

Mabel LaBrant, 85, of Savannah, died Saturday, Jan. 14, in Savannah.

She was born in Hindman, Ky., the daughter of the late Tom and Ellen Fitzpatrick Fugate. She was united in marriage to Michael LaBrant, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. LaBrant was a waitress for The Ranch House in Cocoa, Fla.

Services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 18, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Mark LaRue officiating.

She is survived by one daughter, Benita Burne of Portland, Ore.; one son, Bill Queen of Indiana; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Polly Riddle of Avilla, Ind., Marie Charles and Cleo Vester, both of Paris, Tenn.; one brother, Tom Fugate of Lake Zurich, Ill.

She was also preceded in death by two sons, Roger and Kenny Queen; one daughter, Faye Solomon; one grandchild; one sister, Rebecca McCarthy; and four brothers, Paul, Johnny “J.E.,” Arvil and Ardith Fugate.
