Richard Reece Rose

Richard Reece Rose was born in Detroit, Mich., on Aug. 23, 1950, the son of the late Arthur and Geneva White Rose.

On July 17, 1976, he was united in marriage to Rebecca Stricklin, who survives.

Mr. Rose was a field appraiser for the Hardin County Assessor’s Office for 22 years, a director for the Hardin County Farm Bureau and a member of the Iron Workers Union Local 477. He was a graduate of the University of North Alabama and had lived in Florence, Ala., and most recently the Big Ivy community in Savannah.

Mr. Rose departed this life on Sunday, Jan. 8, at the age of 61 years, 4 months, 16 days.

In addition to his wife, Rebecca, he is survived by a daughter, Melanie Rose Tillman and husband Jeremy of Houston, Texas; a son, Derek Rose of Huntsville, Ala.; a brother, Keith Rose and wife Kathy of Florence, Ala.; a niece, Hannah Rose and nephew Zachary Rose both of Florence, Ala.; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Services were held on Thursday, Jan. 12, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Billy Joe Kennedy, Howard Rogers officiating.
