Richard Roy Ford (1-7-12) service 2-5-12

Richard Roy Ford was born in Miami, Fla., on Nov. 25, 1942. The oldest of four children born to Roy H. and Rose Elizabeth Ford, Richard grew up in Joplin, Mo. Married to his wife, Margaret, on Feb. 5, 1966, they had two children, Sarah and Whitney, whom they raised in Lafayette, Ind.

A stockbroker for 22 years in Lafayette, Richard retired to Collinwood in 1998.

Richard passed away on Saturday, Jan. 7, in Savannah, at the age of 69 years, 1 month and 13 days, leaving behind his wife, Margaret, his children, Sarah E. Ford and R. Whitney Ford, and two grandchildren, Emma and Sam. He is also survived by his mother, Elizabeth, two brothers, Robert, of Tulsa, Okla., and Jim of Joplin, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his father, Roy and his sister Shirley.

A memorial service is planned Sunday, Feb. 5, at Stateline Church, Chisholm Hwy, Iron City, Tenn.; Keith Montgomery will officiate.
