Letitia Bain

Letitia Bain was born Feb. 2, 1922, in Savannah, the daughter of Norman Patterson and Clara McLean Kerr. On May 15, 1943, she was united in marriage to Ancil Bain who preceded her in death on March 20, 1993.

Mrs. Bain lived in Hardin County all of her life and was a homemaker and had worked at Ben Franklin Store in Savannah for 15 years.

She was a member of First Baptist Church in Savannah and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a member of the Women’s Missionary Union, and a Sunday school teacher.

She enjoyed baking, gardening, and being an active member at First Baptist Church.

Mrs. Bain departed this life on Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Hardin Medical Center at the age of 89 years, 10 months, and 15 days.

She is survived by a son, Mike Bain and wife Teresa of Mission, Texas; a daughter, Candace Etheridge and husband Randy of Savannah; three sisters, Elizabeth Smith of Savannah, Geneva Felker of Dickson, Tenn., Sue Hopper of Lakeland, Fla.; two brothers, Billy Kerr of Savannah and Bobby Kerr of North Little Rock, Ark.; three grandchildren, Kyle and Angie Etheridge, Justin and Jackie Bain, and Leanne and Chris Lewis.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Cooper.

Services were held on Monday, Dec. 19, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Eric Jones and Michael Roach officiating. Burial followed in the Mount Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County.
