Mary Pride Distretti

Mary Pride Distretti, of Adamsville, was born in Hot Springs, Ark., on Nov. 16, 1918, the daughter of the late Oscar Jay and Willa Mae Stratton Pride.

On Feb. 16, 1948, she was united in marriage to Joe L. Distretti, who preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1991.

Mrs. Destretti went to Henderson State Teachers College Class of 1940 Arkedelphia, Ark. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Catholic Church, the Red Hat Society and the McNairy County Retired Teachers Association.

Mrs. Destretti departed this life on Sunday, Oct. 2, at the age of 92 years, 10 months, 16 days.

She is survived by a son, Joe Distretti of Adamsville; two grandchildren, Justin Distretti and Gabriella (Gaby) Distretti.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Jean Pride; two brothers, O.J. Pride and Richard Pride.

Services will be held on Thursday, Oct. 6, at 10 a.m., at Saint Mary’s Catholic Church in Savannah with Father Anthony Azuwike officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Memorial Garden at Adamsville.
