Juanita Bessie Haynes, 85, of Adamsville, died Monday, Sept. 19, in Selmer.

She was born in Steele, Mo., the daughter of the late Herman Ollie and Annie Bessie Young Haynes. She was united in marriage to Alva Franklin Haynes, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Haynes was a homemaker. She obtained her GED in 2002 at the age of 76. Mrs. Haynes was a member of Solitude Freewill Baptist Church and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary to the V.F.W. 4606.

Services were held Saturday, Sept. 24, at Shackelford Chapel Savannah with Shane Thompson officiating. Burial followed in Campground Cemetery.

She is survived by three daughters, Rita Winkler of Quinlan, Texas, Mary Wilkins of Booneville, Miss. and Teresa Haynes of Dallas, Texas; two sons, Willie Haynes of Savannah and Allen Haynes of Adamsville; 26 grandchildren, and too many great-grandchildren to count.

She was also preceded in death by four daughters, Rebecca Haynes, Greta Goodwin, Patricia Zachary and Fran Peavy; two sisters, Gladys McMillan and Lois Price; two brothers, Elmer and McKinley Haynes; and three grandchildren.
