Eva Staggs

Eva Price Staggs, 81, of Savannah, died Monday, Aug. 29.

She was born in Lauderdale County, Ala., the daughter of the late Louella Price Smith. She was united in marriage to James Hunter Staggs, who survives.

Mrs. Staggs had worked as a seamstress for Angelica. She was member of the Jesus Christ Holiness Church in Lauderdale County, Ala. and the Senior Citizens of Walnut Grove.

Services will be held on Thursday, Sept. 1, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Ernie Cordova and Jim Young officiating. Burial will follow in the Hollands Creek Cemetery at Hardin County.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Junior White and Ronnie White both of Savannah; two daughters, Linda McAnally and Susan Cordova, both of Savannah; 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, J.B. Smith of Savannah; three stepsons, Thomas, Mike and Keith Staggs, all of Decatur, Ala.; a stepdaughter, Katherine Welch of Decatur, Ala.;

She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, James Smith; a son, Wilburn White; a stepson, Lloyd Staggs; a brother, Lonnie Smith; a sister, Nell Henderson.
