Dougal Alexander White, born Dec. 25, 1920, was a native of Savannah, former resident of Collierville, Tenn., and resident of Knoxville for 10 years. He passed away in Knoxville, on Friday, Aug. 12.
He retired from Brown Shoe Company after 19 years of employment. After retirement he worked for Wal-Mart in Collierville, Tenn., as a door greeter for 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife Blanche Marie White; parents Edward M. and Lillie Gillis White; brother Randal White; and sisters Marie White and Blanche Eleanor White.
He is survived by son Lon A. White and wife Kathy of Knoxville; two grandchildren, Lauren White, Lonisa White and husband Jeremy, and one great-grandson, Adam Jeremy White, all of Knoxville.
Receiving of family and friends will be held Saturday, August 20, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral home in Savannah, with a graveside service following at the Gillis Mills Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
