Johnny Tilley

Johnny R. Tilley, 56, of Savannah, died Friday, July 22, in Jackson, Tenn.

He was born in Hardin County, the son of Stella and the late James Tilley.

Mr. Tilley was a heavy equipment operator for John Dale Company.

Services were held Monday, July 25, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with David Highland officiating. Burial followed at Holland’s Creek Cemetery.

He is survived by a daughter, Melissa Tilley Young of Savannah; two sons, Jason Tilley of Savannah and Toby Hollander of Iuka, Miss.; his mother, Stella Tilley of Savannah; three sisters, Wanda Steely of Savannah, Glonda Hollander of Iuka, Miss., Frances Tilley of Calhoun, Ga.; two brothers, J.B. of Savannah and Hershel Tilley of Bethel Springs, Tenn.; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Herby Tilley; and a sister, Shirley Powell.
