J.D. Harville

J.D. Harville, 81, of Savannah, died Friday, July 22.

He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Pascal and Jullie Griffin Harville. He was united in marriage to Lena Ann Doyle, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Harville retired from Hassel Lumber Company.

Services were held on Monday, July 25, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Wayne Bittle officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County.

He is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Pinson of Savannah and Sherry Holcombe of Waterloo, Ala.; two sons, Frank and Roy Harville, both of Savannah; two stepdaughters, Mary A. Burns and Lena M. Shelby, both of Savannah; two stepsons, Jhonny W. Mancell and Jimmy I. Mancell, both of Savannah; a brother, Barney Harville Clifton; three sisters, Lucille Duckworth of Savannah, Bernice Wilkerson of Walnut Grove and Gladys Bass of Georgia; 16 grandchildren, 29 step-grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 49 step-great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren and 11 step-great-great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Larry D. Harville; a stepdaughter, Leslie Chapman Mancell; two stepsons, Floyd Junior and Frank Mancell; six brothers, John, Willard, Tommy, Dave, D.P. and Ike Harville.
