Jimmy Neal Dickson, 73, of Morris Chapel, died Wednesday, July 13, in Bethel Springs.

He was born in Morris Chapel, the son of the late James Guy and Essie Franks Dickson. He was united in marriage to Louise Gann Miller, who survives.

Mr. Dickson was a heavy equipment operator doing mostly bulldozer work. Earlier in his life, he lived in Memphis and classed cotton. He then went to work for Brown Shoe Company working in Savannah, Lexington and Missouri. After his retirement, he worked part time for Randy and Bridget Elliot until he had to retire in December of 2010.

In addition to his wife, Louise Gann Miller Dickson of Bethel Springs, he is survived by a son, Stacy Dickson of Bethel Springs; two stepsons, Dennis Miller of Selmer and Tommy Miller of Bethel Springs; daughter, Vickie Weber of Savannah; and a grandson.

He was also preceded in death by a brother; a stepdaughter, Ellen Miller; a stepson, Joey Miller.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 16, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Selmer with Jimmy Cates officiating.
