Joe Lunsford Sr. (6-29-11)

Joe Lunsford Sr., 70, of Lutts, died Wednesday, June 29.

He was born in Avon Park, Fla., the son of the late William Carvel and Linnie Presley Lunsford. He was united in marriage to Mary Sue Dixon, who survives.

Mr. Lunsford retired as a millwright with Florida Millwright Local 1000 in Tampa, Fla. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Pinecrest, Fla. and Second Creek Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, Mary Sue of Lutts, he is survived by two sons, Joe E. Lunsford Jr. of Lutts and Steve Lunsford of Savannah; two daughters, Susan Giguere of Athens, Ala. and Millie Rushlow of Waterloo, Ala.; 10 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linnie Hunter of Lithia, Fla. and Myrtle Campbell of Jamestown, Tenn.; three brothers, Donald and Paul Lunsford, both of Lithia, Fla., and Buel Lunsford of Waycross, Ga.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Hunter; and three brothers, Jack, Algie and William Lunsford.
