Allen D. Riley

Allen D. Riley, 90, of Savannah, died Sunday, May 1.

He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Allen Dumas and Stella H. Riley. He was united in marriage to Nell Harrison, who preceded him in death.

 

Mr. Riley owned his own construction company. He had lived in Bakersfield, Calif. for more than 40 years and was a member of the Builders Exchange. He was also a member of the Wesley’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Savannah. He served in the US Navy from 1942-1945.

Services were held on Wednesday, May 4, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jim Wright officiating. Burial was in the Pyburn Cemetery at Hardin County.

He is survived by two sons, Thomas Lee Riley of Pittsboro, N.C. and David Patrick Riley of Savannah; a sister, Helen Riley Seat of California; two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Allen Riley; three sisters, Hazel Riley Qualls, Ruby Riley Crocker and Sally Riley Spencer.
