Etta Jennings

Etta "Holt" Jennings, 92, of Savannah, died Wednesday, March 30, in Savannah.

She was born in Wayne County, the daughter of the late Walter Andrew and Mary Elizabeth Stribling Henson. She was united in marriage to Carl Holt, who preceded her in death.

Ms. Jennings was a homemaker and also had worked for Roser’s Handle Mill. She was a volunteer at the Senior Citizens Center and was a member of Savannah Church of Christ.

Services were held on Friday, April 1, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jim Chamblee, Howard Rogers officiating. Burial was in the Centenary Cemetery at Wayne County.

Ms. Jennings is survived by two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, nine great-great- grandchildren; two sisters, Hazel Haridison of Arkansas and Willie Ellen Franks of Savannah; one brother, Eloy Henson of Muscle Shoals, Ala.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Glenn Holt; three sisters, Gladys Black, Esther Melson and Edith McFalls; and one brother, Walter L. Henson.
