Dorris Neal Rainey
Dorris Neal Rainey, 80, formerly of Savannah and Milledgeville, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, at his residence in McKenzie, Tenn.
He was born in Lake County, Tenn., son of the late Omer and Roberta Cole Rainey.
Mr. Rainey was a former wholesale jobber for C.H. Summers Company in McKenzie and later self-employed selling in southeastern West Tennessee, a former owner of Rainey Grocery in Milledgeville, and a manager of the Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store in Savannah. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Services were held Saturday, Feb. 19, at 1 p.m., at McKenzie Funeral Home with Steve Boone and Gale Davidson officiating. Burial was at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife Patricia Rainey, three daughters, Marcia Baucum of Gleason, Linda McMackin of Gleason, June Bridges of Enville; one son Jeff Rainey of McKenzie, Tenn.; one sister, Betty King of McKenzie; one brother Delbert Rainey of Dresden, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Drewry Daniel, Jeanette Moore; a granddaughter; and a brother, Dwight Rainey.
