Shane Ray Miller

Shane Ray Miller was born Sept. 23, 1982, in Chattanooga, Tenn. He was the son of Glenn Ray and Joyce Phillips Miller.

Shane was a graduate of Adamsville High School and the Nashville Auto and Diesel College. He was co-owner of Miller’s Heavy Machinery in Milledgeville, a heavy equipment operator, and a member of the Operating Engineers Local 369. Shane loved his family and friends, and he enjoyed riding four-wheelers and building four wheel drive trucks.

Shane departed this life on Sunday, Jan. 23, in Morris Chapel, at the age of 28 years, 4 months.

He is survived by his parents, Glenn Ray and Joyce Phillips Miller of Morris Chapel; four aunts, Marie Crow and husband Jimmy of Nesbitt, Miss., Linda Crouch and husband Joe of Morris Chapel, Ruthie Minor and husband Joe of Amory, Miss., and Brenda Phillips of Bethel Springs, Tenn.; five uncles, Glenn Phillips and wife Phyllis of Selmer, Gerald Phillips of Enville, Neal Phillips and wife Barbara of Adamsville, Raymond Miller and wife Mary of Stantonville, and Vernon Miller and wife Shirley of Morris Chapel; special canine companion Mildred; and many cousins, extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Otis and Rachel Phillips; paternal grandparents, Leonard A. and Ocie Miller; and uncle Harold Phillips.

Services were held on Wednesday, Jan. 26, at 3 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville in Adamsville with Lloyd Blankenship officiating. Burial followed in the Milledgeville Cemetery at Milledgeville, Tenn.
