Phil Gillham

Phil Gillham, 94, of Crump, died Friday, Jan. 7, in Crump.

He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Isaac and Pearl Hale Gillham. He was united in marriage to Otha Wade, who preceded him in death. He was later united in marriage to Juanita Swafford Davis, who survives.

Mr. Gillham was a teacher and principal for the Hardin County Board of Education. He was a United States Army Veteran of World War II. He was a member of Christian Assembly United Pentecostal Church, the National Education Association, Retired Teachers of Hardin County and the Phi Delta Kappa.

Services were held on Sunday, Jan. 9, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with James Hopper, W.H. Plunk, W.D McCollum officiating. Burial was in the Crump Cemetery.

In addition to his wife, Juanita of Crump, he is survived by one stepson, Kim Davis of Corinth, Miss.; two step-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Thelma Thiele of St. Louis, Mo.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Lucille Young; and one brother, Aubrey Gillham.
