Robert Lewis Groves

Robert Lewis Groves, 80, of Savannah, died Friday, Dec. 10.

He was born in Ashland City, Tenn. He was united in marriage to Charlene Davis Robbins,who survives.

Mr. Groves was an engineer for the Savannah Utility Department. He was a member of the New Chapel Freewill Baptist Church in Counce.

Services were held on Sunday, Dec. 12, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Mark Hatley officiating. Burial was in Lutts Cemetery.

In addition to his wife, Charlene, he is survived by one daughter, Patricia Hunter of Hendersonville, Tenn.; two step-daughters, Rita Conaway of Jackson, Tenn., and Karan Holt of Florence, Ala.; two step-grandchildren; and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by one son, Robert Dale “Bubba” Groves.
