Irene Holt Irene Holt, 98, of Savannah, died Wednesday, Dec. 22. She was born in Sardis, the daughter of the late James L. and Mary McKinney England. She was united in marriage to Jones Holt, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Holt had been employed with Memphis Light, Gas, and Water and also as a teacher. She was a member of the King’s Daughters and a charter member of Christ United Methodist Church in Memphis. Services were held on Thursday, Dec. 23, at Sardis United Methodist Church in Sardis with Hayes Fletcher officiating. Burial was in the Sardis Cemetery. Mrs. Holt is survived by her nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Opal Little, Jimmie Little and Ruth Rice; two brothers, Robert and Bill A. England.
