Dennis “Flip” Hunt

Dennis “Flip” Hunt was born Feb. 13, 1946, in Hardin County, the son of the late Robert Wiley and Mary Ruth Austin Hunt.

Mr. Hunt was a self-employed home builder and attended East End United Methodist Church in Savannah.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, joking with people and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also had several classic cars he enjoyed working on.

Mr. Hunt departed this life on Friday, Dec. 10, in Jackson, Tenn., at the age of 64 years, 9 months, 27 days.

He is survived by two daughters, Shannon McFall and husband William of Savannah, Lois Ann Hunt of Savannah; two sons, Denny Hunt of Savannah, Ronnie Paul Hunt of Savannah; a sister, Grace H. Franks of Savannah; two brothers, Jimmy Douglas Hunt of Markesan, Wis., Malcolm Austin Hunt of Adamsville; and three grandchildren, Dillon McFall, Dusty McFall, and Dallas McFall.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Ferrell, Geneva Barker; and three brothers, J.C. Hunt, Robert Hunt and infant, Robert Paul Hunt.

Services were held on Tuesday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with James “Buck” Hopper, Paul Hook officiating. Burial was in the Wesley’s Chapel Church Cemetery at Savannah.
