John Crowell

John Crowell, of Savannah, was born in Milledgeville, on Feb. 22, 1930, the son of the late Jim Franklin and Sallie Rickman Crowell.

On Dec. 3, 1949, he was united in marriage to Wilma Sue Martin, who survives.

Mr. Crowell retired from Caterpillar Tractor Inc. as a welder. He was a member of the Southside Baptist Church and the UAW Union. In addition to Hardin County, Tenn., he had also lived in East Peoria, Ill.

Mr. Crowell departed this life on Monday, Nov. 15, at the age of 80 years, 8 months, 24 days.

In addition to his wife, Wilma, Mr. Crowell is survived by his daughter, Susan Lynn Cohenour of Santa Clarita, Calif.; two grandchildren, Kristina Gonzalez and Anthony J. “T.J.” Cohenour; a great-grandchild, Johnny Gonzalez.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Michael Crowell; two brothers, J.C. and James Albert Crowell; three sisters, Eleanor Crowell Leek, Reba Nell Crowell Stanford, and Betty R. Crowell Wilkerson; a great-grandchild, Justin Gonzalez.

Services will be held on Sunday, Nov. 21, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Benny Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the Milledgeville Cemetery at Milledgeville, Tenn.
