Travis Stanley (10-14-10) services 10-23-10

Travis B. Stanley, 80, of Adamsville, died Thursday, Oct. 14, in Selmer.

He was born in Texaco, N.M., the son of the late Walter and Ellen Griffin Stanley. He was united in marriage to Carolyn Lambert, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Stanley was a former minister in Fort Worth, Texas. He managed several retail grocery stores and was a United States Army veteran. He was a member of the Center Hill Baptist Church near Counce.

A memorial service was held Saturday, Oct. 23, with Bill McCall officiating. Arrangements by Shackelford Funeral Directors of Selmer.

He is survived by a daughter, Barbara Alderett of New Mexico; three sons, David, Travis and Gary Stanley, all of Fort Worth, Texas; 10 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; a brother, John Stanley of Fort Worth, Texas; a step-daughter, Shyrl Smith of Adamsville.
